Amit Erdan, the son of Israel's Ambassador to the United Nations Gilad Erdan, put on tefillin for the first time today (Monday) to mark his reaching the age of mitzvot.
On his Facebook account, the excited father shared about the event, under the title "Three generations: grandfather, father and grandson":
""There are few moments in a Jew's life that are as moving as the moment he stands with his son and puts on tefillin with him for the first time.
""This morning I had this moment with my beloved son Amit, who reached the mitzvot, in a moving ceremony at the Heschel school where he attends in New York.".
Gilad and his family were in for a surprise ahead of the event, after his parents came especially from Israel: "The excitement was doubly great since my father, Avinoam, came especially from Israel with my mother, Yehudit, to celebrate with us.".
He wished: "May we always be happy and celebrate together.".
