National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir arrived on Saturday night at the scene of the serious attack in the Neve Yaakov neighborhood of Jerusalem, in which seven Jews were murdered.

Residents shouted at him: "Death to the terrorists!".

Ben Gvir refused to speak to the media in the midst of Shabbat, but told residents who approached him that he had left the Shabbat table and had come especially.

Ben Gvir said: "This is a matter of life and death. I left the Shabbat table, the children and my wife. You are right, the burden of proof is on us. It cannot continue like this.".

A resident of the neighborhood told the minister that he went outside when he heard the shots and was almost shot by the terrorist. "I live here, I was sure they were shooting here at night," he said. "I went outside and saw people screaming and running, two of them were on the floor here and another one was on the floor there. The dog Ben Kalev was standing in front of me with a gun and almost shot me, I don't know how he didn't kill me.".

He turned to the minister in tears: "Itamar, take care of them. We chose you.".

Ben Gvir replied: "I hope we will soon change the weapons policy. There must be weapons for more civilians. This must be stopped. This must be stopped. God willing, this is what will happen.".
