Yinon Magal and Ben Caspit discussed all the issues on the public agenda this morning (Thursday) on their program on 103FM radio.
Business owners? Grow on it: You too deserve to grow to number one
Caspit pointed out to Magal that Sayeret Matkal veterans were organizing a protest against the reform of the legal system led by Justice Minister Yariv Levin - and an argument quickly developed between the two, after Magal said: "It's pathetic, these are people who didn't get discharged from the army, who have this Sayeret Matkal incident in their lives all day long.".
Caspit: "Your friends from Sayeret Matkal are holding a protest march, why didn't you join?".
Magal: "It's ridiculous to me, no. Hasamba Hasamba Hasamba. They take the name of the unit, which we were together, for operational purposes, for the purpose of defending the homeland, and simply taint it in politics. What is this thing? These demonstrations are not political, it's not right and left. Obviously. My support for reform is not right and left either, okay? It's not politics. My vote for Likud is not political either. Nor is my support for Netanyahu. Stop whining, everyone is leftist. They take the name of the unit and simply disparage it, taint it in politics.".
Caspit: "Sayeret Matkal graduates also have the option and permission to identify politically.".
Magal: "Not in the name of the unit. Let them go to the demonstrations.".
Caspit: "Outlaw it, I wouldn't be surprised if it was outlawed, but as long as political identification is allowed in this country, Sayeret Matkal veterans, Maccabi Health Insurance veterans can identify.".
Magal: "Of course they can, they also do it.".
Caspit: "If it's not convenient for you, that's fine.".
Magal: "It's pathetic, these are people who haven't been discharged from the army, who have this Sayeret Matkal event in their lives all day. This is perhaps the most important element in their lives. It's pathetic. Come on, you were in Sayeret Matkal, well done, maybe you'll get promoted?".
Caspit: "This is not left, this is not right, what looks like a government coup that is destroying everything that our fathers established here is this. And everyone, Dir Black, whoever doesn't come to the demonstration on Saturday. These demonstrations need to grow, unfortunately I can't come. I'm demonstrating from the studio, no, in the studio I try to be more objective.".
Magal: "Good.".
Caspit: "Certainly more than Channel 14.".
Magal: "More than Channel 14, what? Objective? Come on, really. You're more objective than Channel 14, obviously.".
Caspit: "Let's do a survey.".
Magal: "Come on.".
