Tragedy in Kiryat Arba: A 60-year-old woman died this morning in a fire that broke out in an apartment on the third floor of a residential building.

Magen David Adom medics and paramedics who were called to the scene were forced to declare her dead. Rescue workers provided medical treatment to four other people - who were slightly injured, apparently from smoke inhalation. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated.

""We arrived at the scene within three minutes and detected the heavy smoke from the building," says firefighter, Fire Chief Dudo Elmaleh. "I entered the apartment with the team and located a woman lying unconscious in the apartment hallway. At the same time, we heard cries for help from a woman and a baby from the fourth-floor window.".
