The figurine in the picture is inside the throat of a man, who apparently did not check the glass of water properly before taking a sip.
According to the report published on the Mako website, the man from southern India went to the hospital shortly after his morning prayers complaining of breathing problems. Doctors soon found a foreign object lodged in his throat.
An X-ray examination at the scene revealed what initially appeared to be a tiny dagger in the patient's vocal cords. The man then realized what it was and told experts that he had probably accidentally swallowed a tiny statuette of an Indian god. He claimed that shortly before, he had been drinking "holy water" as part of his morning prayers and apparently did not notice the miniature figure was inside the glass.
Sources familiar with the incident said that a team of experts was able to extract the figure using endoscopic surgery without the need for surgical intervention. The man has since been released to his home, where he continues to recover from the bizarre incident.
