Why is the Likud boycotting the "Kalman and Lieberman" program, which airs every morning on "Kan"? According to presenter Assaf Lieberman, the reason lies in an interview conducted about a month ago with MK-designate Boaz Bismuth.

According to him, about a month ago they interviewed candidate Boaz Bismuth and asked him what the Likud's proposal was for addressing the justice system. After long minutes in which Bismuth did not answer despite the pair of presenters asking repeatedly, the interview ended and, as mentioned this morning, they learned that the Likud had decided to boycott the plan.

"We were supposed to interview MK Amichai Shikli, who was recently sworn in by the Likud, on the radio this morning," Assaf Lieberman began the post he will publish today [Monday]. "But at the last minute, we were informed by him that the Likud was prohibiting him from being interviewed with us. When we contacted the Likud to check what happened, they explained to us that not only would Shikli not be interviewed with us, but that no Likud member was authorized to speak with us."

"That is, a boycott. The Likud - a not unimportant party, which claims to return to being a ruling party - is declaring a boycott of a not unimportant current affairs program, with half a million daily listeners," Assaf said.

"Why? What did we do? Well, the reason the Likud is so angry at us, to the point of boycotting us, is an interview we conducted about a month ago with the party's newest member, Boaz Bismuth. At a time when it is customary to argue against the media for being engaged in yellow vests, gossip, "Yes, Bibi, not Bibi," "Who will sit with whom?", etc., we asked Bismuth what the Likud's plans are regarding the judicial system.

According to Assaf Lieberman: "Netanyahu and his MKs talk so much about the changes needed in the judicial system, so we said to ourselves that it would be worth checking with one of the party's candidates for the Knesset what changes the party is proposing. We insisted on receiving concrete ideas and you are invited to judge the answer for yourself."

He concluded by writing: "In any case, that's what the Likud exploded about, and that's why they're boycotting us. A party that claims to lead the country is boycotting a newspaper organization because of the insistence of its submitters to receive an answer about its plans for the future. In my opinion, it's a scandal."
