Malka Diskind, widow of the late Rabbi Simcha Bonim Diskind, who was killed in the "disaster in Meron" during the Rashbi's Lag BaOmer celebration last year, became engaged today (Wednesday) to Moishe Bruiner, a Gur Hasid.

Simcha Bonim and Malka lived in Ramat Beit Shemesh 3. He studied at the Gur Hasidic kollel in the city.

The late Simcha Bonim was 23 years old when he died, and left behind his 22-year-old wife, a 3-and-a-half-year-old daughter, and a 9-month-old baby.

Before Lag BaOmer 5781, he traveled to his parents' house in Haifa and from there continued to party in Meron, for the first time in his life, which was also the last.

The brother of the late Simcha Bonim, Israel Diskind, one of the leaders of the 'Assun Meron' family forum, tweeted on his Twitter account: "Congratulations to my sister-in-law, the widow of my late brother, on her engagement at a good and successful time with my friend from the small yeshiva Moishe Bruiner (one of the elite in the group). May you live together in wealth and happiness until 120, with longevity and years.".

5 months ago, on the day that it was 11 months since the 'Meron disaster', the sister of the late Simcha Bonim announced with excitement that she had given birth to a son.

""This morning we ended 11 months of mourning for my late little brother," his brother Israel Diskind updated on his Twitter account. "Eleven months since the Meron disaster, and this morning we learned of the birth of a son to my sister.".
