Netanyahu said: "Make every effort to stop the tragedy and bloodshed in Ukraine. In Israel, we place a high value on assisting Jews in Ukraine who want to immigrate to Israel, the home of all the Jews of the world. In addition, I support an entry visa for non-Jews, for war refugees who will arrive in Israel for a limited time.".
""We now have tens of thousands of programmers in Ukraine, almost 50,000 according to some estimates," he said. "If we don't find solutions for them, Israeli high-tech and cyber will be in trouble. The best solution is to offer those workers visas to Israel so they can come live and work here, or to work in parallel so that neighboring countries like Hungary, Poland and Romania will help us with international agreements to move to them and continue working for Israeli companies.".
Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, speaking at a cyber-tech conference this morning, called on world leaders to act to bring Putin and Zamansky back to the negotiating table.
""There is a terrible war going on in Ukraine right now. War is a terrible thing," he said. "In Israel, we have experienced quite a few wars, and I can share with you our central insight - wars are easy to start and very difficult to end.".
He added: "Things look bad on the ground right now, but it's important to understand that if world leaders don't act quickly, it could be much worse. I'm talking about the loss of many lives, the complete destruction of Ukraine, and millions of refugees - but it's not too late. It's the responsibility of the world's major players to act quickly to get both sides off the battlefield and to the negotiating table.".
Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked called today during a conference of regional council heads and deputies of the regional government center in Israel, which is being held in the Golan Regional Council, to assist in the absorption of immigrants from Russia and Ukraine.
""We think that tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of immigrants from Russia, Ukraine, and the Commonwealth of Independent States will arrive. You in the regional councils can help with absorption.".
