He completed his high school studies at the Comprehensive High School in Beer Sheva and served in the IDF as a fighter in one of the IDF's elite units.
These days, Kays Aysa is completing his academic studies for a bachelor's degree in education at Ono College.
Kays Yirga is married and the father of four, and his selection was made by a professional committee whose members included: Kays Samai Elias, chairman of the Zere Aharon Cohen Spiritual Council from the Kays organization, Kays Zemna Malkam from Rehovot, Kays Mola Zarihon from Kiryat Ekron, Shlomo Tanami, chairman of the Council of Religious Councils, chairman of the Religious Council Amram Ivgi, secretary general of the Lod Religious Council Naomi Farhi, and observers: Rabbi Reuven Wabshet, Chief Rabbi of Ethiopian Jews and the rabbi of the city of Lod, Rabbi Shimon Meir Biton.
The committee examined and interviewed the candidates for the position and reviewed recommendations submitted by various cases from the community.
Kays Issa's candidacy was supported by Kays Abba Malkosah Abroya Mensha, president of the Mahara Israel Council of the Kays - spiritual leadership of the Beta Israel community, and Priest Kays Berko Tagneh, chairman of the Mahara Israel Council of the Kays - spiritual leadership of the Beta Israel community.

I will engage in the dissemination of Torah alongside preserving the customs and traditions of the community. Kays plays a significant role in establishing peace between people and conducting religious ceremonies. I am entering a position that carries great responsibility in leading the community, and this is the place to remember my predecessors in the position who did a sacred service for the members of the community. I pray to the Creator that I will succeed in my role and that no mishap will occur under my hands and that I will faithfully serve the people of Israel.".
