Naftali Bennett and senior Health Ministry officials gathered this morning (Monday) for a situation assessment discussion on the Health Ministry's recommendation to ease the isolation policy.

According to a report on Channel 12, data was presented at the discussion indicating that approximately 501% of those infected in Israel carry the Omicron variant. The data also shows that the strain's doubling rate is every two and a half days.

There are 13,053 active patients in Israel.

87 patients are in serious condition, compared to 96 patients in serious condition yesterday. Of the patients: 47 are in critical condition, 38 are on ventilators and 18 are connected to ACME. A total of 143 people are hospitalized with coronavirus in hospitals across the country.

The contagion coefficient remains stable at 1.41.

However, the rate of infections has been on the rise over the past week. At the beginning of last week, the rate of infections was about 1.2%, and gradually climbed during the week, until it reached a rate of 2.16% two days ago. However, it is important to note that the data on Shabbat is always unstable due to the lack of testing.

Yesterday, the rate of infections decreased slightly, but still indicates an increase compared to the data from the past week.

There is no change in the red settlements: Ma'ale Adumim is red and several neighborhoods in Rishon LeZion.

The Intelligence Division's Information Center warned that while in the first Delta wave, Israel reached about 1,000 confirmed cases per day after about a month, at the current rate of the spread of Omicron, Israel could reach about 100,000 infections per day within about a month.
