Central Crime Scene Investigators conducted a complex and extensive investigation, as the first testimony in the case was that an unknown suspect was seen fleeing the scene of the murder on a motorcycle, while the list of "alleged potential suspects" included hundreds of people at the beginning of the investigation, due to a financial dispute in the real estate sector with the victim.
As mentioned, the unit's investigators used the best technological means to advance the investigation, analyzing forensic findings and documentation at the scene, along with conducting additional investigative steps, which led to the disclosure of the suspect's identity within three weeks.
As the covert investigation progressed to the overt phase, the IDF detectives arrested the suspect at his home, in possession of a gun that was tested at the Israel Police's forensic laboratories and found to match the findings sampled at the murder scene, as well as seizing the motorcycle he owned, which the suspect allegedly used to arrive at the scene and escape from it after the murder.
In accordance with the needs of the investigation and its development, the court extended the suspect's detention from time to time, and this morning, based on its findings, the Central District Attorney's Office will submit a statement of claim against the suspect, and in the coming days, an indictment and a request to continue his detention until the end of the proceedings will be submitted.
The head of the investigation team, Chief Inspector Ezra Goldstein, said: "We rubbed our eyes, we were surprised that this man was capable of committing such a brutal murder. We asked the family members at the scene not to approach Perry's body. This was a surprise for us, this is not the person we expected.".
According to the suspicion, Kadar began planning the murder in February, after being asked to pay hundreds of thousands of shekels more for two apartments he purchased in a project in Lod. Security camera footage revealed that the suspect had been following Perry for months.
Kedar's defense attorneys, attorneys Shashi Gaz and Idan Shani, responded: "The suspect vehemently denies his involvement in the offense and continues to do so." According to them, "Only this morning did the investigative unit tell us that they will file a prosecutor's statement. We are not yet exposed to the evidence held by the investigative unit. When we see and learn, we will be able to respond to the serious accusations that the police are making against our clients.".
