His funeral took place today at the Yarkon Cemetery.

Haredi filmmaker Yehuda Grobeis paid tribute to him: "My friend and mentor in the world of cinema has passed away. The late Yoel Kaminsky. I met Yoel 21 years ago, and to this day we truly became best friends. Yoel introduced me to many of his friends who shaped my entire world of cinema - and perhaps indirectly, some of you, the readers of the post, too - and in everything Yoel was there to recommend, to guide, to be a partner.

""Yoel Kaminsky always knew how to give the right word/the sharp criticism/the right advice. In the future you will hear from me about a big project that we started writing together 13 years ago, and Yoel was the only one who never gave up for a moment, and was a partner until his last days, much thanks to his daughter Kerem Kaminsky.".

""Yoel was always a guest of honor in my home and at my family's celebrations, and participated in several films, and insisted on not charging for his work. Yoel is undoubtedly one of the most impressive and precious people I have ever known in my life.".
