In the case, the police arrested three Arabs. The suspects are: a taxi driver from Dimona, a resident of Aror, and a resident of the Palestinian Authority who teamed up to steal a vehicle in Dimona and smuggle it into the West Bank.
On Monday, about two weeks ago, the police received a report of a vehicle theft from Dimona. The Ituran company located the vehicle near the Nevatim base. The suspect, who noticed that he was being chased, began driving wildly, broke into the IDF base in Nevatim and fled on foot.
Police forces, with the assistance of the IDF, conducted searches to locate him.
A joint investigation team was able to identify the suspects involved in the incident: a 20-year-old illegal resident of Dahariya, a taxi driver from Aror in the Negev, and a resident of Dimona.
According to the suspect, on the evening of the incident, the three decided to steal a car and transport it to the Palestinian Authority territories, with one of them driving the stolen vehicle and the taxi driver accompanying him. Immediately after the incident at the IDF base, the taxi driver picked up the suspect in the car theft and smuggled him into the Palestinian Authority territories.
As stated, three suspects were arrested today on suspicion of vehicle theft, endangering human life on a traffic lane, entering an IDF facility, and illegal residence.
They were taken for questioning at the Dimona police station and will be brought before the Beer Sheva Magistrate's Court tomorrow.
