What happened? Well, the former MK also did not receive exceptional permission to fly to Israel.
According to a report in Maariv, Shai purchased tickets and was supposed to arrive in Israel next Friday, but did not receive permission to fly.
Shai said: "Right now, the party has entered the picture. If I don't receive it by Sunday, I will go to the High Court of Justice. This is a serious violation of my ability to participate in the election campaign and also great stupidity. How many candidates are there who are abroad and need to return?".
In a tweet he posted on Twitter, he wrote: "My request to come to Israel ahead of the election campaign and the elections themselves was rejected by the Health Committee. There are no explanations. I assume they know, apparently, that Netanyahu intends to continue for the fifth round. Don't worry, I will come.".
