Yesterday (Tuesday), photos from a birthday party held for him, attended by dozens of employees, were posted on the Facebook page of Harish Mayor Yitzhak Keshet.
The party was held in a closed location, in complete violation of the Corona regulations and quarantine.
Additionally, a photo of him celebrating with friends in a private home was published. This is allegedly a violation of the Corona guidelines that prohibit another person from staying in a private home during the quarantine.
In a letter sent by Shai Glick, CEO of 'Tselmo', to the Attorney General, it was stated: "Yesterday, 11/26/21, Harish Mayor Yitzhak Keshet posted on his Facebook page a recording in which he was seen celebrating his birthday at the municipality building, in violation of the Corona guidelines with dozens of people, while he and some of those present were without masks.
""Additional documentation was also posted on the mayor's Facebook page, in which he is seen celebrating with other people (without masks) in a private home that is not his, contrary to the guidelines. Ostensibly, this photo appears to be from yesterday or from the last quarantine period, and if so, it is a violation of the quarantine guidelines.".
Glick added: "It should be remembered that we are in a period of lockdown with thousands of infections per day, and it was only recently announced that Harish is a red city with an increase in morbidity. In addition to the ban on gatherings, the obligation to wear a mask, and the limited distance from the place of residence, the lockdown guidelines prohibit staying in another person's home.
""Since this is the head of the authority, whose duty is to set an example for the residents of his city, there is an increased obligation to adhere to the guidelines.".
""Only recently, in a letter received by the 'Tselmo' organization from the State Attorney's Office, the excessive severity arising from the violation of the guidelines by elected officials and senior office holders was noted: 'Given the excessive severity of violations of the Corona restrictions by elected officials and senior office holders and the damage they may cause to the fight against the virus, the Attorney General has instructed that in cases where there is prima facie evidence of a serious violation of the restrictions by them, enforcement will take place even retrospectively and a fine will be imposed as stipulated in the law and regulations.'.
""Due to the seriousness of the matter, and in accordance with the regulations, I will request that fines be imposed on the mayor of Harish, and also to clarify to him the seriousness of his actions.".
Shai Glick said in response to the Haredim 10: "No one is above the law!""
