
Baruch Dayan, the truth teller: Rabbi Shalom Povarsky, zt"l, one of the leaders of the Kol Torah yeshiva for decades, died on Saturday at the Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem at the age of 85 after contracting the coronavirus.

The Haredi Povarsky, zt"l, was born in Baranovichi, Belarus, in Nisan 35, the youngest son of Maran Haredi Povarsky, zt"l, Rosh Yeshiva of Ponivz and owner of the Yeshuot David, and to his mother, Rebbetzin Chaya Feigl, may God have mercy on him.
The deceased, zt"l, immigrated to the Holy Land with his parents at the age of 4.
In his youth he studied at the Ponivezh Yeshiva in Bnei Brak and when he reached adulthood he married his wife, the daughter of the eminent Rabbi Simcha Pines zt"l.
For years he served as the rabbi at the 'Beer Yaakov' yeshiva, headed by the late Haram Shapira and the late Masgid Haram Wolve, and in 1982 he was appointed rabbi at the 'Kol Torah' yeshiva, where he taught many students for almost 40 years.
He left behind a generation of righteous people from the ignorant.
His brothers are the Rosh Yeshiva of Ponivz, the Garav Povarsky, a member of the Council of Torah Scholars of Degel, and Rabbi Chaim Povarsky.
The funeral procession will take place tonight (Saturday night) at 8:30 PM from the Kol Torah Yeshiva on Pisga Street in the Beit Vegan neighborhood of Jerusalem, to the Beit HaChaim Ponivez in Bnei Brak - where he will be buried.
