
The Jerusalem Magistrate's Court today (Tuesday) extended until Thursday the arrest of a resident of the ultra-Orthodox city of Beitar Illit, suspected of throwing stones at a police vehicle that arrived last night to break up a wedding held in the city, in violation of coronavirus guidelines.

Following a report received by the police about a wedding held at an educational institution, attended by dozens of people, police forces were called to the scene.
Upon the arrival of the forces, dozens of people in the crowd began throwing objects at a police vehicle, causing damage to the vehicle. Additional police forces were called to the scene and worked to disperse the crowd and the wedding attendees.
The residents provoked the police and even caused them to retreat from the scene.
3 suspects were arrested for questioning on suspicion of assaulting police officers and causing damage.
The event organizer was summoned to the station.
The police stated that additional arrests are expected and "the police will continue to act with determination and intolerance towards violence directed at police officers.".
