Shraga Sofer and Moshe Hemed, ZAKA volunteers who treated the scene: "This is a young man about 35 years old who lives alone. When we arrived at the scene, we found the man on the floor of his house after apparently dying about a week ago and lying there until the terrible smell bothered the neighbors, who called the police and fire departments - who broke into the apartment and found the deceased's body in a state of disfigurement.".

An extended team of ZAKA volunteers from the Shephelah region treated the deceased with dignity in the difficult scene.

The deceased's body was transferred to the Abu Kabir Institute for further examination and identification.

The circumstances of the incident are being investigated by the police.

Since the beginning of 2020, ZAKA volunteers have treated more than 100 similar difficult cases of elderly, orphaned, and homeless people who were found hours, days, and weeks after their death.
