Thousands of left-wing protesters arrived this evening (Tuesday) to demonstrate near the Prime Minister's house in Jerusalem, in a demonstration that was nicknamed the 'Bastille Protest' because it was held on the day that France marks 'Bastille Day.'.
Around 9:00 PM, the protesters in front of the Prime Minister's residence began to riot, confront the police, and try to break through the fences towards the Prime Minister's house.
According to reports, the protesters threw bottles and eggs at police officers and media photographers present at the scene.
Later, hundreds of protesters blocked the light rail route and threw stones and eggs at the police. Jerusalem District Commander Superintendent Doron Yedid ordered the demonstration to be dispersed using water cannons. One police officer was injured during the disturbances directed at the police.
The police said tonight: "Israel Police forces dispersed the troublemakers, and all traffic lanes are open to traffic.
""During the disturbances, 50 suspects were arrested/detained on suspicion of violating public order, causing damage to property, and assaulting police officers and media personnel.".
""The Israel Police will continue to allow freedom of expression and protest for the entire public, but will not allow harm to citizens, police officers, media personnel, or public property, and will act decisively against those who disrupt the order.".

Organizers of the left-wing 'Black Flags' protest said: "An accused prime minister has no time to deal with the serious economic crisis of our generation. Hundreds of thousands of self-employed people are collapsing under the dysfunction of the Netanyahu government, a government that is busy from morning to night with the trial of the accused Netanyahu.".
According to them, "If he has any responsibility left towards the citizens of the state, he should resign and give the reins to someone who has time for state affairs.".
Singer Assaf Amdursky, who caused a stir at a demonstration in Rabin Square on Saturday, arrived at the protest outside the Prime Minister's residence and told Channel 13: "He is accused of bribery, fraud and breach of trust. He does not have the mandate. He should concentrate on his indictments. He should hire lawyers at his own expense and not at our expense, and he should not waste our tax money.".

In Tel Aviv, a protest led by Daphne Leaf was also held, marking eight years since the outbreak of the social protest and against the backdrop of the difficult economic and social situation that Israel has found itself in following the ongoing Corona crisis.
Ultra-Orthodox demonstrations are also taking place in the city of Beitar, in the Romema neighborhood of Jerusalem, and in the city of Beit Shemesh. The demonstrators are protesting the imposition of a lockdown in the ultra-Orthodox neighborhoods.
