Amazon Fresh, the food products division of online sales giant Amazon, announces the launch of what it calls the next thing in home consumption - Amazon Dash.
The device, which is slightly larger than a pen, connects to your home WiFi network and compiles a digital shopping list.
The Dash is able to scan barcodes, record, and convert the input to text, and once the list is compiled, it uploads it to your account on the Fresh website.
All of this action is available both via the computer and in the shopping app on Android or iOS.
The launch of the device is another step by Amazon in its attempt to gain a foothold in the American retail market, and it is being given away free of charge to a group of testers.
Amazon Fresh - Amazon's fresh food division, currently operates in only three cities in the state of California in the United States, and delivers twice a day - in the morning and in the evening - fixed or variable orders of food products, from a huge variety of items.
