An interesting survey conducted in the United States found that Democratic users block friends on social networks due to political opinions almost three times more often than Republican users.
In other words, leftists, contrary to expectations, block those who express an opinion different from theirs at a much higher rate than rightists. This was published on the website ''Size'.
The results show that while 24 percent of Democrats admit to doing so, only 9 percent of Republicans and 9 percent of those who identified as independents blocked friends based on political positions.

The survey involved a thousand respondents, and it dealt with the impact of politics and the recent elections on family ties and social relationships of Democrats and Republicans.
And what about the question of gender?
Women are twice as likely to block as the general population (18 percent compared to 9 percent), and the ratio reaches its peak among Democrats: 30 percent of women admitted to blocking due to differences of opinion, compared to 14 percent of Democratic men.
Among Republicans, however, there was no major difference between women and men (10 percent of women blocked, compared to 8 percent of men).
