How much is the blue pebble in the picture worth? Well, hold on tight: no less than $175 million, and what's even more surprising - it's already sold.
This is the largest blue sapphire in history, weighing 1,404.49 carats (about 280 grams).
It was discovered in the famous mines of Sri Lanka.
The stone was purchased by a customer who declined to disclose how much he paid for it.
In an interview with the BBC, he said that when he first saw the stone, he immediately realized that he had the largest sapphire in the world. He also realized that it would not be possible to set it in jewelry, but would probably be displayed in museums.
The man, who declined to be identified by name, gave the stone the name 'Human Star'.
The Sri Lankan city where the mines are located has produced gems of this type over the past five years, the total value of which has reached $165 million.
