The US Ambassador to Israel, Dan Shapiro, visited the Haredi College in Jerusalem yesterday (Thursday). The ambassador, who is overseeing the English studies project at the preparatory school, said that he sees the acquisition of the English language as an important professional tool for the integration of Haredi society into the labor market.
Later in the tour, the ambassador visited the children's daycare affiliated with the college, which allows female students to be close to their young children, even while studying.
The ambassador was very moved and praised the college's administration for its commendable work in promoting and integrating Haredim into employment, while maintaining the Haredi lifestyle and free from foreign influences.
The meeting was attended, among others, by Itzik Sudri, project alumni Rebbetzin Tzipi Lau, the college administration, and outstanding students.
