Cross a border: Following accurate intelligence information and proactive activity, investigators and detectives of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) last night located a ready-to-detonate explosive device on the grounds of the Brenner Brigade School in Petah Tikva. Two suspects, including a school staff member, were arrested for questioning. The police said that additional arrests are expected.

A few hours before the start of school, a wireless explosive device was found in a sports hall on the grounds of a school and community center, located on the corner of David Pinchas and Ein Ganim streets. The device was found during an activity carried out by investigators and detectives of the IDF at night in the Petah Tikva area, following information received that criminals had placed an explosive device there.

As part of the operation, the unit arrested two suspects, after they were caught this evening on the school premises in possession of a bomb and a substance suspected of being a drug. Among the suspects is a 31-year-old school staff member suspected of trafficking in weapons and drugs, and another person suspected of attempting to traffic drugs. The suspects were taken for questioning by the unit and today, depending on the results of the investigation, a decision will be made whether to ask the court to extend their detention.

The police say: "The unit's immediate and determined activity prevented a real risk to the school's students and staff, who unknowingly would have been at the school tomorrow while an explosive device was being held there." The police also said that "the investigation is ongoing. Additional arrests are expected."
