Is this the slowest police chase in the world? Los Angeles police were filmed pursuing a green taxi in the south end of the city after it was reported hijacked.

Surprisingly, the driver appears to be driving with irritating patience, without even trying to mislead the police cars that are following him.

The taxi driver continued his calm and defiant ride, and when he reached railroad tracks over which a train was passing, he performed a U-turn as nonchalantly as if he were not under police surveillance.

According to reports, the driver also received applause from passersby, and even stopped to chat with them for a bit.

At some point, the police apparently got fed up, and they called in reinforcements who stopped the taxi with some violence - as can be seen in the attached video.
