Yossi Toretzky (30) grew up in the Hashmonaim settlement and is now married + 3 and lives in the Talmon settlement in the Binyamin region. Already at the age of 16 in the high school yeshiva, he would find himself playing in the room for hours and composing songs. Since then, he has written and composed dozens of songs, with the playing always connected with something spiritual and with significant messages. The Jewish music he grew up on, a spiritual crisis he went through during his years in the high school yeshiva, his intensive work with youth in the city of Modi'in and the Talmon settlement, as well as his spiritual connection to the Hasidic teachings of Rabbi Arush in particular and Breslav in general - formed the background for writing a large part of the songs, which are characterized by a strong statement and message along with a catchy chorus. His musical inspiration comes from the wave of renewal in Jewish music that speaks of the depth and complexity of the work of God along with personal exposure.

Yossi is currently finishing work on his debut album, produced by Eran Klein. The first single from it, "Stay with Me," was released a few months ago. The songs on the album mostly deal with faith in God, a faith that we experience as believers in all kinds of angles and challenges throughout our lives.

Now, Turetzky is releasing a new single along with a fascinating music video – Nes Eloki – that combines his personal story with that of the whole of Israel.

Yossi's parents immigrated from England, while his wife Ruth immigrated with her parents from Ethiopia in Operation Solomon over 20 years ago. The two first met in Bnei Akiva, later married, and now have three adorable children. The song "Nes Eloki" is in a drawer while working on Yossi's album. The beautiful lyrics, written by Abrash Ben Baruch, a poet who also immigrated from Ethiopia in her youth, were given to Yossi to compose many years ago. The song is a national love song between a husband and his wife that expresses the longings of thousands of years for unity and a return to the land of our ancestors. The song and the music video emphasize that we are not talking about passing history, but about facts of life that continue in a miraculous process during our redemptions.
