The social networking site Facebook crashed this morning (Tuesday), a little after 8:00 a.m. The photo app Instagram is also unavailable to users.
Upon entering the site, an error message appeared: "Sorry, a problem has occurred, we are working to fix it as quickly as possible." Some users reported that from time to time they were able to return to view the pages, but they soon disappeared following the problem. About an hour later, the social network was back up and running.
This is not the first time that the world's largest social network's website has crashed. Similar glitches occurred with Facebook in June and September.
Facebook is the world's largest online social network, available in more than 70 languages. Facebook has over 1.3 billion active user pages, approximately 80% of which are outside the United States and Canada.
