The Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem, the rabbi of the Ha-Zacharias, Rabbi Shlomo Moshe Amar, conducted a kosher inspection tour of the Knesset kitchens today (Sunday).
Rabbi Amar was accompanied by the director of the Kashrut Department of the Jerusalem Rabbinate, Rabbi Alexander Hochman, the secretary of the Kashrut Department, and the Kashrut supervisors in the Knesset kitchens.
The rabbi inspected the ovens, cold rooms, warehouses, and dining rooms.
At the end of the tour, Rabbi Amar presented the Director General with a new kashrut certificate for the Knesset kitchens, cafeterias, and restaurants. The Rabbi warmly thanked the Knesset Director General, Ronen Plot, for the help and assistance he provides the Knesset Rabbi in all matters of religion and kashrut in the Knesset.
Halfway through the tour, Rabbi Amar met MK Elazar Stern and wished him success in his future endeavors.
Upon leaving the Knesset, Rabbi Amar met MK Eliezer Mozes, and when asked about the level of kashrut in the Knesset, Rabbi Amar replied: "This is one of the most organized and kosher places I have ever visited.".
