A serious car accident in the meantime: Elchanan Twitu, 21, a student at the 'Or Baruch' yeshiva in Jerusalem and a resident of the city of Sderot, was killed near midnight in a fatal car accident on Highway 90, near the entrance to the village of Oja, when two vehicles, driven by a Palestinian and an ultra-Orthodox, collided head-on.

During the night, Twito's parents were informed by the Sderot city officer of the worst news of all. To their horror, the deceased's brother received the message via a WhatsApp message in one of the groups he was a member of.

Angela Adani's son Yinon is hospitalized in very serious condition. Two other passengers - Shmuel Aminian and Yosef Cohen - were slightly injured.

The funeral of the young man Elhanan, the late, will be held at 4:00 PM at the Sderot cemetery.

The driver took a detour.

An initial investigation indicates that the vehicle in which the yeshiva students were traveling was trying to overtake a truck when it noticed the Palestinian vehicle in front of it, but the attempt to avoid a collision was, unfortunately, too late.

Volunteer paramedics from United Hatzalah from the Binyamin and Jerusalem branches who arrived at the scene provided the injured with initial medical treatment.

MDA paramedics pronounced the late Shel Twitu, who was trapped, dead and provided medical treatment to the injured. Adani, who was seriously injured and trapped in the vehicle, was evacuated by Unit 669 helicopter to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital. The two other passengers were lightly injured. Four injured Palestinians were treated by the Red Crescent.

The Israeli vehicle overturned and caught fire. Firefighters and police are working at the scene. ZAKA personnel arrived to honor the deceased.

""A very difficult arena""

Dvir Adni, a United Hatzalah medic, reported from the scene of the accident: "When I arrived at the scene, I came across an overturned vehicle with people trapped inside, one of whom was lifeless and next to him was a seriously injured person - unconscious. I and other medics provided him with initial medical treatment and three other injured people in various conditions. This is a very difficult scene.".

Nitai Reish, an emergency medical technician at MDA, says: "This is a serious head-on car accident between an Israeli and a Palestinian vehicle in the Waqf. Two passengers were trapped in one of the overturned vehicles, a man was critically injured, and after rescue operations, MDA paramedics were forced to declare him dead. Another man, about 30 years old, who was moderately to seriously injured in his limbs was later rescued from the vehicle, while receiving medical treatment from MDA and IDF forces at the scene.

""There were two victims near the vehicle, in their 20s, who were lightly injured, treated at the scene and evacuated by MDA ambulance to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem.".

""Four additional lightly injured people, a couple in their 30s and children aged 7 and 5 from the other vehicle, were treated at the scene and evacuated by the Red Crescent.".
