Firefighters and volunteers from the Binyamin area worked this evening (Sunday) on a fire that broke out in an apartment on Ahavat Yisrael Street in the Haredi settlement of Tel Zion in Binyamin.
The teams that arrived at the apartment detected a lot of smoke coming out of the door of the house, went inside and began extinguishing the fire, operations to release heat and smoke, and searching for trapped people.
The fire was centered in the living room of the house, and the space was filled with heavy smoke.
The forces gained control of the fire. Heavy damage was caused to property, but no casualties were reported.
Reshef Muni Ben Zion, shift commander: "Upon arriving at the house, we quickly worked to extinguish the fire and eliminate any trapped people in the apartment. At the same time, I interrogated the mother of the family, who was at home with her son and fled the house when the fire broke out, while the smoke detector beeped loudly and the neighbors quickly called 102 for the firefighters.
""In this event, we understand the importance of installing smoke detectors. The smoke detector warns of the outbreak of a fire and allows us to escape and save our loved ones.""
