Police officer Superintendent Reut Rosenberg petitioned the Jerusalem District Court against National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, who she claims has refused to approve her promotion.
Rosenberg, who serves in the Legal Advice Unit, claims that she is "the only one whose appointment has not yet been approved. The professional-police process has led to a decision by the national general command staff, according to which she should be appointed to the position of head of the torts section in the Legal Advice Unit and promoted to the rank of deputy superintendent.".
Ben Gvir's office responded: "The minister is not a rubber stamp, and it's time for this to be internalized. Mrs. Rosenberg's case will be examined professionally and in an orderly manner. But the method of officers sending letters to lawyers and at the same time running to whine in the media - does not work for him. Appointments of officers will be made only after organized staff work and professional considerations. The days of 'friend brings friend' and an officer appointing an officer are over.".
