Firefighters from the Judea region were called today (Sunday) to a fire that broke out in a toy store on David Building Street in the city of Beitar Illit.

The crews who arrived at the scene detected smoke coming from the store's warehouse, with a residential building above it.

The forces immediately began operations to extinguish the fire, clear the smoke, and search for trapped people.

Rabbi Reshef Ofir Ben-Zvi, shift commander: "This is a fire in a building that combines residential and commercial use. The rapid response of the fire crews meant that the fire did not spread to additional stores and the upper floors of the building.".
