The two young men who were killed tonight (Thursday) in the fatal traffic accident on Highway 7, near the Sorek Interchange, are the late Aharon Peretz, 18, a student at the Amit Yagel Yeshiva from the city of Ashdod, and Shira Naim, a 10th grade student, 16, from Moshav Sde Uziahu.

The accident occurred at 00:27, when a minibus carrying a group of young people was returning from Jerusalem, after the passengers had prayed at the Western Wall.

The two died in the fatal collision involving the minibus and a truck.

According to initial assessments by law enforcement officials, the minibus driver hit a truck that was parked on the side of the road at the time.

Keren, Shira's mother, wrote this morning: "My girl, my heart, I am shattered to pieces.".

The Amit Yagel yeshiva's announcement reads: "Unfortunately, we have bad news this morning. Our beloved student Aharon Peretz from the 12th grade was killed in a serious accident that occurred tonight on Highway 7. Three other students were involved, they were injured but, thank God, are recovering. We will pray for their recovery and complete healing.".

Rescue forces called to the scene provided medical treatment to the injured, including three in serious condition and two others in mild condition, who were evacuated to Assuta Hospital in Ashdod and Kaplan Hospital in Rehovot.

Two other victims were evacuated from the scene in minor condition.

Assuta reported that four injured people from the serious accident on Highway 7 were evacuated to the trauma room of Assuta Ashdod Public Hospital last night. They were treated by a trauma team and the teams of the pediatric and adult emergency medicine departments: 1 is classified as in moderate condition, 2 are classified as in mild condition. The three are hospitalized in the surgical department. Another injured person was released home after initial treatment.
