Hundreds are participating today (Wednesday) in the funeral of Maj. (res.) Itamar Sapir at the Ra'anana Military Cemetery.
Sapir, from the Ali settlement, fell in battle in southern Lebanon and left behind his wife, Roy, his toddler son, Maayan, his parents, Yehuda and Rivki, his brother, and a large and painful family.
Roy Sapir, Itamar's wife, paid him a tearful tribute: "My beloved, I called you after they announced that you were dead, because I was sure it wasn't true. I'm surrounded by people, but without you - so what's it worth anyway? You're everything to me and to us. How do we continue? Do we continue? With you, everything was possible.
""You always had high standards for this life. You always had high standards for your soldiers. My love, I need to ask you to give me signs every now and then.
""Thank you for such good years together. Thank you for making me happy. Thank you for my eyes. It suddenly scares me how much he resembles you. I wish he was like you in character too. You were a loving father without limits.".
