The Ombudsman for State Representatives in Courts, retired Judge Menachem Finkelstein, published the summary of his decision regarding the Ronal Fisher affair. The Ombudsman examined the affair in depth following a complaint filed by MK Moshe Saada, former Deputy Director of the Public Prosecutor's Office, against the conduct of the Attorney General's Office in the Ronal Fisher affair.
The Commissioner concludes in his remarks that the main failure is the Police Investigations Department and not the Prosecutor's Office: "The birth of the affair in an investigation is fraught with failures, omissions and deficiencies by the Police Investigations Department. Substantial material that was collected disappeared. Witnesses were questioned improperly, and more.".
"The law enforcement system has failed miserably in this case. The primary responsibility for the lack of justice in this case does not lie with the District Attorney's Office. But first and foremost with the Police Investigations Department.".
