During an operational activity at the Ranthis checkpoint against car thieves, led by the ETAG unit, a Lexus vehicle that had been stolen a short time earlier from Rishon LeZion was stopped.
During the arrest, the suspect lost consciousness, apparently following a cardiac event, according to medical officials. The unit's fighters and volunteers performed CPR on him until MDA teams arrived and he was evacuated to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The incident was reported to the relevant authorities.
