The Prime Minister met with the head of the Golan Heights Council and the head of the Katzrin Council. The three presented a development plan to expand the city of Katzrin by another 3,000 apartments.
The Prime Minister said: "I am here with our leaders in Katzrin and the Golan. Do you remember there were demonstrations, 'The people are with the Golan,' because they were sure that we would go down to the Sea of Galilee? I told you: 'That will not happen.' Not only are the people with the Golan, I am with the Golan, the Israeli government is with the Golan, and the Israeli people are with the Golan, really. And so the Golan not only remains, there is no debate about that. I spoke with President Trump at the time when he recognized our sovereignty over the Golan, and now we are coming with a tremendous development momentum, and I hope to come visit soon.".
The head of the Katzrin local council, Yehuda Doa, said: "We are going to grow Katzrin and the Golan Heights with 3,000 new housing units, which will bring 3,000 new families to Katzrin and the Golan; strengthen academia, research, Kiryat Shmona University with a branch here in Katzrin, a faculty and a veterinary hospital, and many other great and significant things. As you have always been by our side, so too now. You continue to be by Katzrin and the Golan. We thank you very much for all your leadership and guidance. We have confidence in your leadership.".
The head of the Golan Regional Council, Uri Kellner, said: "Prime Minister, I think the most central thing happening today is that you have strengthened the strategy of the State of Israel through the buffer zone and the connection with the Druze. And today you are strengthening the civilian space, and strategically fortifying the status of the Golan and Katzrin, in order to constitute the line of defense of the State of Israel in the northern region. We thank you very much for this.".
