Last night (Wednesday), Maran HaGard Lando delivered words of encouragement to the students of Yeshiva Ner Zerach-Otzem who moved to study in a protected and adapted complex in Bnei Brak - and addressed in detail the complex situation of the war and the draft decree.
""In the Song of Songs, there is a great deal about the verse, 'Solomon gave you a thousand to watch over its fruit' - Rabbi Chiya Baria, the son of Rabbi Abba, said, 'He who learns Torah in sorrow takes a thousand, but not in sorrow takes a hundred in his reward.' Rabbi Yodan, in the name of Rabbi Bon, said, 'He who learns Torah in a place other than his own receives a thousand in reward, and in his own place receives a hundred in reward.'".
""For more than two years, yeshiva students have been studying Torah out of sorrow, as the authorities have been restricting their steps, and now sorrow has been added to the studies of many yeshiva students, as due to the war situation, you are forced to wander to study Torah in places other than your own.
""On the other hand, for more than two years now, the people living in Zion have been in a state of war, the dangers are immense, and the concerns are heavy, but the one who protects Israel protects the remnant of Israel, and all salvation of the people of God is in a miraculous and not at all natural way, and we believe and are certain that it is the Torah that protects and heals.
""We do not have a prophet, and we do not understand the Creator's guidance, but we must know that the dangers are very great and we need great privileges of studying Torah much more than in normal times, and he who studies Torah in sorrow takes a thousand and five hands over studying Torah not in sorrow. And he who studies out of place takes a thousand and five hands over studying in his place.
""All of us yeshiva students, Torah students, are the crown of creation. We are the sustainers of the world. Our Torah study protects the people of Israel, protects and saves in the clearest and simplest sense. Therefore, we must fulfill our role even more intensely, study and study and study again, be immersed in Torah, study for hours on end, and live the Torah, be enthusiastic about its difficulties, and delight in the words of Torah.".
""This is our role, this is our duty, this is our right, and only in this way will we save the people of Israel and protect them from all the many enemies who say, 'Go and exterminate them from a nation.'".
""At the same time, we must increase our prayers with intention, be more careful about the laws of prayer, and we say in the name of the Chazon Ish zt"l that in times of calamity, the psalm "Yoshav Besit Ter" is very effective.".

""Of course, one must be strengthened in faith and confidence that everything that happens is from God, and one who lives in this knowledge is calm and happy, and all his hope is in God, the Blessed One, who is the good and the beneficent, and all that is from David, the Merciful, is for good, and when one is strengthened in faith and confidence, God, the Blessed One, influences goodness upon His lovers, and God is close to all who call upon Him.
""At the same time, there is an obligation to strive, and there are laws of pikuach nefesh. It is obligatory to follow the instructions very carefully, and it is forbidden to be lenient in this. This is an obligation from the Torah of 'and guard yourselves very carefully for your souls,' and we say in the name of the Maran Rabbi of Brisk, zt"l, that by fulfilling the obligation 'and guard yourselves,' the Holy One, blessed be He, brings salvation.".
""And one more thing: it is very important to maintain calm, peace and a good atmosphere, and there is advice for that, to be as interested as possible in what is happening, what you already know is enough, you don't need to look for more information and more information, it is unnecessary, and it mainly may cause unnecessary fear and anxiety.".
The head of the yeshiva also referred to the "Bein Tzamin" at the beginning: "Next week begins the Bein Tzamin. During the Bein Tzamin, there is no exemption from studying Torah, especially in the current situation when the people of Israel need the protection of the Torah. God forbid that yeshiva students and kollelim do not slack off from studying Torah during the Bein Tzamin. On the contrary, during the Bein Tzamin, one can study tractates or other subjects that are less frequently studied over time.
""In the meantime, we should also take advantage of the opportunity to honor our father and mother, and help at home when help is needed. Honor your father and mother so that your days may be long.".
""May the Lord have mercy on His people Israel, and may He save us from all calamities and evil decrees, and may we dwell in the tabernacle of the Torah all the days without any disturbances, and may He redeem us with eternal redemption quickly in our days, Amen.".
