The investigation began on December 8, upon receiving a report of the deceased's absence.

After investigative actions that led to the location of the deceased's vehicle, completely burned out in the Angels' Forest area, the investigation was assigned to the central unit of the Jerusalem District, which carried out investigative actions that led to the location of his body in a deep well near the village of Zoharim.

An undercover investigation conducted by the Israel Anti-Corruption Bureau investigators, under a gag order and accompanied by the Jerusalem District Attorney's Office, raised suspicions against the suspect, and 20 days after the murder, the suspect was arrested before he could leave the country, after, according to the suspicion, "he planned to move the center of his life abroad and escape the threat of justice.".

As part of the search and evidence collection, investigators were able to locate a knife that was suspected of being used to commit the murder. A search of his home also found stun grenades and cartridges.

The police investigation suggests that the background to the incident was "a murky relationship that the deceased had with a relative of the suspect.".

Upon completion of the work of collecting evidence and transferring it to the prosecutor's office, a prosecutor's statement against the suspect will be filed in court today, along with a request to extend his detention by 5 days until the date of filing the indictment.
