• Yeshiva student from Jerusalem drowns in Ein Moda spring
The late Rabbi Hillel Sachs was a persistent and diligent young man, devoted to his teacher and rabbi, the head of the yeshiva, the Gaon Rabbi Hillel Sachs. In addition to his studies in the yeshiva, he served as an instructor at the Marava Yeshiva, located in Moshav Matityahu near Modi'in Illit, where he studied in a small yeshiva.
The yeshiva students are shocked and still not digesting the loss. "He was a rare and special guy. He always made everyone happy, and he was always busy studying," says one of his friends. "He was generous and kind and helped everyone who turned to him. It's hard to believe he's gone.".
In recent days, Meir, the late, was in telephone contact with the Rosh Yeshiva, for medical assistance that his mother provided to Rebbetzin Esther Sachs, through the Meuhedet Health Fund.
The deceased lost consciousness and drowned in the pool, while swimming with his friends in the early morning hours. His friends said that while swimming he suddenly lost consciousness, and after they pulled him out of the water, they began CPR in an attempt to save his life.
Volunteer paramedics from the Gilboa branch of the United Hatzalah performed prolonged CPR on him, and he was taken in an intensive care unit, while undergoing CPR, to Ha'emek Hospital in Afula, in serious condition, sedated and on a ventilator, and in critical condition.
During treatment at the hospital, a skull fracture was discovered and the possibility that he had jumped headfirst into the shallow pool is being investigated.
Beit Shean police are investigating.
At the behest of the rabbis, the name Chaim was added to his name at noon.
After a phone call between the Chief Rabbi Grossman and the Beit Shean Police Chief, the body of the deceased was released in the evening, without an autopsy, and the funeral will take place at 9:30 PM at the Shamgar Funeral Home, and from there to Har Hamenuchot.
