About three weeks after an unusual incident at Ben Gurion Airport, during which a vehicle broke through the security system and fled the scene, security forces were able to arrest the main suspect in the case today (Sunday): a 21-year-old Palestinian, a resident of Beit Ula in Judea and Samaria.
The suspect, who had been on the run since the incident, was arrested with precise intelligence guidance by fighters from the "Arrow of Judah" unit in the Sha'i district.
The checkpoint breach occurred on the evening of December 23. The suspect, who was driving a vehicle with a fake license plate, disobeyed the instructions of the security guards on site and broke into Ben Gurion Airport with his vehicle. Extensive searches conducted in his wake, including with the assistance of the Israel Police Air Force helicopter, revealed that the vehicle had been abandoned - and the suspect continued to flee on foot, but was not located.
Recently, thanks to precise intelligence activity, as part of an operational activity carried out by the Sha'i District units under the name 'Arrests in Red', a variety of operations were carried out that led today the fighters of the 'Arrow of Judah' unit, under the direction of the Intelligence Unit and the Intelligence Coordinator in the Judea region, to lay their hands on the suspect.
The suspect was transferred for questioning to the Central Police District.
