At a ceremony led by the leaders of the 'old settlement' in Jerusalem, the three young men arrested at the excavation site in Yehud were awarded 1,000 NIS for each day of imprisonment in the military prison.
In Tammuz 5785, during protests against the desecration of graves at a construction site in the city of Yehud, three young men from the 'old settlement' were arrested - and following their failure to report to the draft offices, they were turned over to the military police and imprisoned in the military prison for long periods of imprisonment.
All three spent their days in prison in solitary confinement due to their refusal to wear military uniforms.
About two weeks ago, the last prisoner, Rabbi Elazar Tzadok Kaufman, who was imprisoned for 140 days, was released, while in recent months, Rabbi David Menachem Mintzberg, who was imprisoned for over 30 days, and Rabbi Aryeh Mordechai Rabinowitz, who was imprisoned for over 90 days, were also released.
