How will you get home quickly on the night of Hanukkah? Everything you need to know • In advance
He says he observes Shabbat "without television, without telephone and without travel. It is a holy day that connects you to your roots.".
A man was asked to describe the Sabbath in one word - and answered unequivocally: "Nachat.".
The singer commented on the significant change in his life following the decision to keep the Sabbath: "It brought balance to my life. We all live in a crazy loop, everyone really wants to succeed and go far, we are a people who run all day. On the Sabbath you put everything on pause, on mute.".
He said: "There are times when Shabbat comes and I don't feel like answering the phone. I say, 'Why?' Let's continue another day.".
According to him, "It grounds and brings us back to our roots. I read books, sit with my family, listen and hear. We've already gotten used to not being present in any situation because every minute the phone is pulling you away. It's a day of silence, holiness, connection, recharging batteries and moving forward.".
Adam noted that his family doesn't keep up with him, but his close circle has indeed grown stronger: "It ultimately takes its toll.".
The singer, who doesn't often give interviews to the media, sparked reactions online: "Wow, Omar is being interviewed," wrote one of the netizens.
Many others praised the singer for the move: "It's fun to hear words like that online," "A humble and righteous person who inspires," "The only one who didn't mind the publicity.".
Behind the 'Shabbat for All Reasons' project are Sharon Adam and Rebbetzin Rachel Bezek, which was born from a deep understanding that Shabbat has countless faces, and each of them is blessed.
Sharon Adam wrote to her son: "My Omer, my pride. You are the light that illuminates our Shabbat.".
