On the show "The Next Star," which aired last night on Channel 12, a heated debate arose among the judges after contestant Yehuda Yifrach took the stage wearing a turban, but without a kippah. The Kippah website presented the debate.
The first to comment on the unique look was judge Eden Hasson: "The combination of the tzitzit without a kippah is cool.".
Yifrach explained his position: "From the Torah, one is required to wear a tzitzit, but not a kippah.".
Hasson tried to understand: "I'm asking to know, if you're wearing a tzitzit and not a kippah, why not hide the tzitzit? If you're already taking it out, wear a kippah.".
Judge Itai Levy tried to explain the complexity: "It's just like you say a blessing but don't keep Shabbat, or put on tefillin and don't keep Shabbat. What to do?".

Judge Keren Peles joined the discussion, asking Lifarah: "So why did you choose to be with Tzitzit specifically in the last year?".
Yifrach moved those present with his answer: "They say that the tzitzit is intended, first and foremost, to remind you of God. For me, it connects me to nature and the power that protects me, and we needed a great power to protect us in the last two years.".
