On the way to the Western Wall: New service will offer daily rate parking and free transportation

A new service was recently launched to ease the burden on those coming to pray at the Western Wall and visit the Old City. • The service offers daily parking at the first station parking lot and free transportation to the Old City.

Traveling to the Western Wall? A new service has been launched to make it easier for the many immigrants to pray at the Western Wall.

"The Western Wall Heritage Foundation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Jerusalem and the Diaspora, the Jerusalem Municipality, the Jerusalem Development Authority, the East Jerusalem Development Company, and Jerusalem's official tourism website, ItravelJerusalem.com, launched a special service to make it easier for visitors to the Old City.

The new service offers parking at a daily rate in the parking lot of the first station complex, and provides free rides from there on special shuttles, which will be called 'Free to the Old City' to the Garbage Gate and back.

As mentioned, the service was launched to reduce traffic congestion and parking shortages near the Western Wall, and to make it possible to reach and tour the Jewish Quarter, the Western Wall tunnels, the Chain of Generations, the City of David, and more.

The following spoke at the launch ceremony: Minister of Jerusalem and Diaspora Affairs Naftali Bennett, and Rabbi of the Western Wall and Holy Places, Rabbi Rabinowitz, who welcomed this initiative and noted that additional ways should be explored to facilitate the arrival of visitors to the Western Wall.

 The recently launched free service will serve passengers from a special station in the station compound parking lot to the garbage gate every 20 minutes. .

Hours of operation: Sunday-Thursday between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, Mondays and Thursdays - starting at 7:00 AM, Fridays until one hour before Shabbat begins and on Saturdays starting one hour after Shabbat ends.

During the holidays, the line will operate in a different format, and up-to-date information will be published on Jerusalem's official tourism website itraveljerusalem.com, on the Jerusalem Municipality website, and at the Jerusalem Municipality Information Center 106, for callers outside Jerusalem: Tel. 02-5314600.
