Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein has been examining in recent days a move that would cancel the dissolution of the 21st Knesset and advance elections for the 22nd Knesset - an outline that has already received backing from the Prime Minister.

In a tweet on Twitter this evening (Friday), the Knesset Speaker wrote: "Continuing the election process - a breach of trust towards the citizens of Israel who are losing billions just because of the personal disqualifications of various party leaders. Dozens of wise men from all factions have contacted me to find a solution to cancel the dissolution of the Knesset.".

""I have found a parliamentary outline and there is a possibility of canceling the unnecessary elections in Israeli history. Our duty is to allow the 21st Knesset to continue to function.".

United Torah Judaism responded to the move: "As we have announced in the past, the repeat elections are unnecessary and wasteful, caused by the whim of one man. We have no problem running again in the elections and will be able to prove our strength with the help of God.".

""If we are required to cancel the elections, we will examine who the political partners are in such a move and only then will we decide.".

The Yisrael Beiteinu party, on the other hand, attacked the prime minister head-on this evening, against the backdrop of his support for the initiative to bring forward the elections: "What is guiding Netanyahu tonight is not the good of the State of Israel, but the fear of losing power.".

In Yisrael Beitenu, they hinted that the rift with Netanyahu is even deeper: "It is Netanyahu, who twice in six months dissolved the Knesset, who has begun to internalize that the citizens of Israel do not accept the approach that 'God chose us to rule.'".
