At noon (Tuesday), a 43-year-old Petah Tikva resident burst into the offices of the Shofar organization on Matityahu Street in Bnei Brak, armed with a knife - and threatened to stab those present.
According to eyewitnesses who were present at the scene, the man used curses and knife threats against employees of the Shofar organization and asked to meet with Rabbi Amnon Yitzhak - who was not in his office at the time.
Volunteers from the "Guardians" organization who were called to the scene took control of the suspect, and he was handed over to the police.
The Shomerim organization stated: "A short time ago, a report was received at the 'Shomerim' hotline about a man, apparently mentally unstable, who burst into the offices of the 'Shofar' organization with the aim of harming Rabbi Amnon Yitzhak Shlita.".
