An indictment was filed today (Monday), following a joint investigation by the Israel Police and the General Security Service, against a student in his 20s, a resident of Tel Sheva.
It is suspected that while the student was serving as a substitute teacher at the school in Tel Sheva, he contacted jihad activists from various Arab countries, agreed to help a jihad terrorist infiltrate Israel, and joined a Salafi-jihadi organization.
About three weeks ago, the student was arrested while on his way back from Jordan - and taken for questioning.
During his interrogation, it emerged that before leaving for Jordan, he had contacted jihad activists from Arab countries and agreed to help a jihad activist from Tunisia infiltrate Israel and carry out military activity in Israel with him.
It also emerged that during this period he agreed to join a Salafi jihadi organization.
During his interrogation, the suspect contacted the person attributed to him, and after establishing the evidentiary foundation against him, an indictment and a request for detention will be filed against him by the Southern District Attorney's Office until the end of the proceedings.
