The special ministerial committee, headed by Diaspora Minister Amichai Shikli, decided today (Sunday) unanimously to recommend to the government to dismiss Legal Advisor to the Government Gali Baharav from Yara.
The next step - the recommendation will be brought up for discussion and voting at the government meeting to be held this Sunday.
Communications Minister Shlomo Karai welcomed the ministerial committee's decision: "The matter has been resolved. Next week, with God's help, we will put an end to this delusional and political ministry and send it home with dignity. This is a test of governance of the highest order. Kudos to my fellow pioneers who initiated the move.".
Earlier today, the legal advisor submitted her response to the High Court of Justice in reference to Judge Noam Solberg's ruling that there is no need at this stage to issue an interim order in the petitions whose cases she dismissed.
In the explanatory note, Bahrav-Miara wrote that the advancement of the procedure should be stopped immediately.
However, last Friday, the Deputy President of the Supreme Court, Justice Noam Solberg, ruled that if the government decides to impeach, the decision will not take effect immediately - to allow for judicial review.
