Former Finance Committee Chairman, MK Moshe Gafni of the United Torah Judaism faction, arrived this morning (Sunday) for a discussion in the Finance Committee on the economic assistance program bill - despite his resignation last week following the conscription law crisis, and found himself once again sitting in the chair of Finance Committee Chairman.
MK Naor Shiri of the Yesh Atid party, who entered the room, did not hide his astonishment: "What are you doing here?""
MK Yinon Azulai of Shas, who is now serving as chairman of the committee in Gafni's place, sought to calm the surprised attendees: "I understand the excitement, but Gafni is always Gafni and will not help anyone.".
MK Vladimir Belyak of Mish Atid sneered: "I tried to add him to the opposition group, but he doesn't have WhatsApp, so we're stuck right now.".
To the bewilderment of those present at the committee, Gafni replied that he came to the committee as a member of Knesset.
